An Overview of Film Projector Rentals!

Projecting reels of a film to form a continuous series of image is done by Film Projectors. Film Projectors are required to reel and unreel sections of movies, as well as adjust the distances and arms. Despite the popularity of video projection, film projectors have their own special place in the markets.

The demand for Film Projector Rentals arises out of sources like film festivals, school and university campuses, and from residences.

Film Projectors differ in widths such as 8mm, 16mm & 35mm. The crowd of audience and the amount of space available determine the type of projector to be hired. Projectors of 8mm and 16mm widths are required in homes, schools and university campuses. Mostly, those of width 35mm are in demand during festivals.

Projector Rental Companies are either run independently by the universities or reside inside the campus. Projector rental demands are mostly of a recurrent nature since festivals occur regularly during a fixed period of the year. As far as residences are concerned, the demand is usually in the summer months, when families prefer arranging outdoor get-togethers.

Rental rating schemes depend on the types of films used. The starting per day rental rates of a 16mm and a 35mm film projector varies in the range of $20- $50 respectively. When considering the screens and other equipment’s, rental rates shoot higher up. Film projectors are kept in fewer stocks by most of the audio visual industry rental companies. The rental companies, in most cases, charges less for the students inside university campuses.

Video projectors offer a tough challenge to film projectors in the markets. The conventional film-based technologies are gradually becoming unfashionable because of the newer advancements like the DLP and audio/video storage media. In comparison to video projectors, film projectors lag behind in features such as controlling brightness and contrasts. Even with the cinema halls developing into digital forms of projection, film based projector manufacturers are deteriorating; consequently leading to the unpopularity of the rental industry of film based projectors.

However, despite a gradual downfall in terms of popularity and demand, film based projector still finds application in university campuses, theaters  operas and audio-visual presentations. Depending upon the nature of requirement, projector films can be purchased or even hired in return of a fixed monthly tariff. The availability of quality product backed by proficient support services makes renting a smart and cost effective alternative to purchasing. Renting is considered to be a much better option compared to purchasing especially for short term uses. Moreover, most of the rental companies provides 24/7 support services which ensures that in case of any technical glitches, experienced technicians are going to test, detect and resolve issues and ensure that the projectors continue to operate smoothly.
